The goal of MIND Program (Molecular Investigations of Neurovascular Disorders) is to bring together a group of interdisciplinary scientists to identify and answer questions at the intersection of molecular and cellular biology, cardiovascular physiology and neuroscience. The guiding principle of the MIND Program is to focus on the integration of molecular and intercellular signals between neurons, glial cells and the vasculature as a fundamental principle of neuroscience, and the basis for brain health. By gathering a deeper understanding of the complexities in this communication and visualizing the neurovascular unit from a molecular systems biology / systems neuroscience point of view, we can understand how perturbations can lead to the development and progression of neurological diseases.

MIND Program co-leads Dr. Paulo Pires and Dr. Erika Eggers
